One of my favourite hymns has to be the epic one Nearer My God To Thee by Sarah Flower Adams.
The words are simply gorgeous! Here they are. Read them carefully.
Nearer My God To Thee Hymn
Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E’en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.
Refrain
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee!
Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone.
Yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God to Thee.
Refrain
There let the way appear, steps unto Heav’n;
All that Thou sendest me, in mercy given;
Angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to Thee.
Refrain
Then, with my waking thoughts bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs Bethel I’ll raise;
So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee.
Refrain
Or, if on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I’ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to Thee.
Refrain
There in my Father’s home, safe and at rest,
There in my Savior’s love, perfectly blest;
Age after age to be, nearer my God to Thee.
Refrain
Call me weird if you like, but I just love working in the office! I'd like to be a legal executive or something when I grow up.... we'll see what God wants and what will end up happening! Life is never boring with God!
I am really glad that the ballet show is now over. Yes, I loved ballet an awful lot, but now we have stopped and life is kind of stopping it's crazy pace. Yup- who in their right mind would want to do ballet FOUR times a week?!
There are lots of reasons we stopped ballet, one of them is just that we don't have time anymore! Four times a week for one and a half hours each time is... let me see.... (doing mental maths here...)... I know! It's SIX hours a week! That is colossal.
See what I mean?
Have a joy-filled week!

I remember singing that hymn with Rachel (from Jewels of Jesus!)
ReplyDeleteHmm.. I don't know if I would love working in an office. I would be 100x more excited about my office outfits... ;)
:-) Somehow, I'm not surprised!!!
DeleteOffice outfits though? I just wear jeans and a sweatshirt... (Although, admittedly being a legal executive would mean wearing fancier attire.)
I am shocked! Just kidding..
DeleteBeing a legal executive, you would probably have to resign yourself to nice blouses tucked into neat tweed skirts, a layered hair cut and high heels... Or maybe that is just a stereo type. ;)
Layered hair cut???? I'm rethinking my occupation options!
