About Me

Whether you’re an old friend or a new friend, a massive welcome to you! I’m so honoured you
decided to stop by my blog today. Have a nice long look around and enjoy your stay!

I’m Bonnie, your host.

I’m a nineteen year old gal living in the beautiful South Island of New
Zealand. I am a daughter to my two wonderful parents, sibling to one older sister and nine energetic younger brothers and sisters. I was homeschooled throughout my school years which was such a blessing.

I’m a lover of beautiful, simple things. Sunsets, roses, walking through grass barefoot, music,
daffodils, pretty handwriting, smiles, tea with honey in it, early morning mist, sunshiney yellow
things, birds and little children’s laughter.

I love to eat chocolate, have adventures, read a good book, make music on my violin, dance
and journal.

I am a loved daughter of my Lord, King and Saviour, Jesus. He purchased my life from my sin
through his death on the cross and his resurrection. To Him alone be all the praise both now
and forever!

Join me on my journey to discovering beauty, joy and blessings from the Lord in what is around
us.

  3. Nice! I am homeschooled too and I was supposed to learn how to play piano but I may or may not have slacked on lessons and practice :P

Wow, nine siblings! I can barely handle my one little brother :P

    Love this page!

  4. I've loved looking around on your blog, Bonnie! I've always wanted to visit New Zealand, but unfortunately it's pretty hard since my family lives in Alaska. :)
I really love chocolate myself, and am definitely a bookworm. :D (As a matter of fact, my two sisters and I have the library in our bedroom- book lover's paradise!)
Our family has a string quartet (plus an extra cello when my dad gets the chance to play); all of us play in it minus the baby and sometimes Mom plays the piano. We began learning this year, and are already getting more advanced than we really ever hoped! How long have you played violin? Do you sing, too?

Thank you for being such an encouragement!

    1. Hi Rachel! Thank you so much for your incredibly sweet comment! :) You've completely made my day!
Well I reckon Alaska would be an awesome place to visit, too. So that makes us equal. :) The thing I love about blogging is that I meet so many wonderful people from all over the world, people I would never have met otherwise. It's very cool.
You have the library in your bedroom?! Paradise indeed!
How cool is that? Your own string quartet! Slightly jealous, haha. :) I'm the only string quartet-used instrument player in my family. We have a harpist and a bunch of budding pianists. :)
How many are there in your family?
I've been playing the violin for fourish years. I'm not that incredible but I love it so much. I do sing, not trained or anything, but just for fun and with my family.

You are so welcome! Thank you for commenting!

  5. We have 7 people in our family total. We feel pretty small around other bigger families in our various homeschool circles. ;)

I've had a great time learning violin! It's been really fun learning as a quartet because we can play all sorts of orchestra pieces as well as the quartet ones.

I've played piano since I was 7 (so about 7 years) but skipped a couple in the middle. Right now I'm just kind of dinking around with it because we're so busy with...life. ;D And the National Bible Bee (you've probably heard of it) is going right now, so we 4 oldest are studying for that.

You can check out our family's blog at MillersInAlaska.org. It hasn't been updated in a long time, but it gives you the jist of what we do up there. :)

    Thank you for replying! :D

How neat. I've definitely heard of the Bible Bee. We don't have anything like that in New Zealand but it does sound awesome. Best wishes for that! You'll have to let me know how you get on. :)
I will definitely check out your family blog. Thank you for the link.
      Have a lovely day!

Thank you for your comment! Yes, New Zealand is absolutely pretty! (not biased at all haha :P) I've never seen the Shire, I haven't travelled much in the North Island although I've travelled most of the South. Be cool to see Hobbiton some day.
      Thank you!

  13. Hello Bonnie!!

I just wanted to let you know that I am unfollowing a lot of blogs and trying to keep life super simple because I've been getting a bit stressed and just feeling the pressure of having so many things to do. So I decided to only follow a few blogs and do a bunch of other things to keep life super simple. So I'm sorry I unfollowed your blog, but I wanted to let you know that it's just because I'm trying to keep life super simple and NOT because I don't like your blog!!

I'm sure I'll still read some of your posts in the future and if you'd ever like to tag me for anything I'd be honored! <3

I feel super bad about doing this, but I'm pretty sure this is something God wants me to do so I hope I don't hurt anyone. /:

    Have a beautiful day!!!

    1. Hi Megan!
Thank you for your sweet words! :) I'd love to do a button swap. At the moment I don't have anyone else's button my blog however. I'm always changing which pages I have and at the moment I don't have any 'other blogs' buttons or a reading list. That may change in the future. Not sure yet. Feel free to chuck my button on your blog though! You can find it on the sidebar :) Have a lovely day.

I don't have anyone else's buttons on my blog at present, just because it would be difficult to keep up with everyone's buttons (people keep changing them :P) and because I feel like I would have too many if all my followers wanted me to put their buttons up!
Feel free to take mine if you like. :) I do guest post swaps if you would ever be interested in that? Feel free to use the contact form on the sidebar of my blog... :) Have a lovely day
