Any computer geeks out there? I would like some help!
I tried to make a button for my blog's sidebar using the tutorial here but it didn't work for me... even though I tried about six times! So now I need some advice on how to make a blog button.
I've got the image (sneak a peek here) but can't figure out how to configure the HTML script for the button!!!
Any hints, tips, advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
It will have to be put into a comment this afternoon or else you must wait two weeks... as my family is going on holiday for the next two weeks, leaving tomorrow. And I doubt I will have internet access where we will be staying!
May the Lord bless you greatly,
Bonnie
I'm sorry I can't help you... I am not exactly "techno" myself!
ReplyDeleteI am still trying to figure out how to make one...
Go to Flashvortex.com.
ReplyDeletePart of your problem is that the picture is too big. It should be only 200 pixels wide at the most (yours is 738 px. wide). I've tried using 125 [wide] x 125 [long] px. as she suggested, but that was too small for me. My present button is 200 x 200 px. wide, though the length doesn't matter as much as the width. Also, with the picture being that small you'll want the text bigger so that it will show up. You might want to put some kind of white outline around the text, so it will be easier to read, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHope that helps. I'm not an expert either, but I have had a little experience.

ReplyDeleteHi Sayna, Scarlet Raptor and Esther,
Thanks for your help, advice and comments. I really appreciate them! I've now got my button (thank you to Jag Swiftstorm) so am happy, but will keep your comments and advice in mind for next time.
Just one thing though: Esther, how do you make the width smaller???? I did wonder about that, but had no idea how to fix it!
Thank you again,
Bonnie
There are lots of programs you can use to edit pictures (along with downsizing/resizing). I like using Paint.NET (it's a program), but you can easily resize pictures here: http://www.resizeyourimage.com/. (you can actually crop the picture, or resize it here--just click the plus or minus buttons to get it the right size. You'll also see the width and height there. Hope that answers your question! :)
DeleteSorry I didn't reply sooner--I totally forgot about your blog until I saw you had tagged Sayna! Oops.
Blessings,
Esther
